Swivel jack, or swivel cable?

I have tried all kinds of cables, from cloth-wrapped to heavy Monster, to thin George L's...all of them can get tangled in a ball while performing. Short of getting a wireless, has anyone ever heard of a cable or jack that swivels- so the cable doesn't twist up on itself? I seem to remember a cable a few years ago, but can't recall what it was. It is a good idea, anyway.

I know that I've seen swivel cables in the past, but I don't know of anyone who's making them now. I can just picture that swivel bracket failing over time.

I solved my cable knotting problems with a Bullet Coily Cable. I can't give them enough praise. Easily the best cheap gear purchase I've ever made.

Any kind of swivel arrangement is going to have mechanical weaknesses in a cable.

Do you roll your cables up properly ? I.e. one loop 'over', next loop 'under' ? Cables that have been rolled properly, along with proper cable-handling skills while performing, should be enough to avoid horrible things like having to use swivel arrangements or wireless ... things.

Yes! I wrap em properly. I think I just walk in circles when I perform.

How do you wrap up a coily cord? Does it ever do the old 'telephone' thing where it wraps up on itself? I've been afraid of this, so that is why I haven't gotten a coily cord.

You have nothing to worry about with the Bullet Coily. They're not like telephone cable at all. The cable itself is very heavy gauge, and the coil diameter is about three times as much as a phone cable. You would have to be doing Cirque du Soleil stuff on stage to get it to misbehave.

I've only ever had mine unwind slightly at the guitar jack end, and it's very easy to get it back into proper shape.

I don't really "wrap" it per se. I just throw it into my bag and it retains its shape just fine.

It's kind of hard to understand these cables until you see one in person. The thing looks and feels solid as a brick. It feels heavy at first, but once you get used to it you won't even notice it's there - which, to me, is the hallmark of a great cable.

Thanks for the info- I will give it a try. My experience with coily cables were from old ones, from the 70s, which were a nightmare. I am happy that they have been improved.
