Talk to me about vibe pedals

Well, I guess I can afford a vibe pedal (the chorus pedal for snobs :)).

I always wanted to get that Hendrix, Trower thing going in my tone.
So talk to me about pedals you have experience with because there are not enough options in Israel so I might order online.
Here are the pedals I know about:

There's the Fulltone Deja-Vibe (the only one you can order through an Israeli store and get service for).
The Roger Mayer Voodoo Vibe.
Sweet sound Mojo.
The Dunlop Univox or Rotovibe.
Boss and Line6 have digital versions. :barf:

Most of them are very expenssive... and pretty hard to find...

An expression pedal plug in is important (my wah pedal would be happy to get less abuse). A tremolo/chorus switch is also a desirable option...

So, does anyone here has experience and wants to make a recomendation?

I didn't like the Fulltone...although I love some of Mike Fuller's other pedals. But I thought his Deja-Vibe sounded weak.

I like the Boss CE-2 and use the Boss CE-2...the little blue pedal that David Gilmore also favors. I think it's one of the very best chorus pedals around.

Don't have alot of experience with Vibe pedals...but I'm loving my Line 6 Verbzilla and DL-4 and thinking thier modulation modeling pedal similar to DL-4 might be very cool.

It has all of the classic modulation effects.

The Voodoo Labs MicroVibe is pretty cool, and cheaper and easier to find than some of the more booteeky ones listed.

Another pedal that does a killer vibe sound is the Guyatone PS-3 phaser, it has an asymmetrical waveform that does a great vibe sound, I compared it to the MicroVibe and it sounded as good or better (check the sound samples). The only downfall to this pedal is that it would bleed through when it was off, I may get another one and make it true bypass, I kinda miss that sound.

I have the Sweetsound Mojo Vibe and can happily recommend it as a totally addictive and beautiful organic sounding vibe, perfect for the Hendrix/Trower sound. It really isn't like chorus, which tends to overtake the whole tone, but is more like an effect you can "play through," with elements of tremolo, Leslie and even slightly wah-like tones. In fact it works brilliantly with a good wah as well. The Mojo Vibe has the expression pedal input, but also has the large speed control which can be operated with your foot if you only need to make ocassional speed changes. The Mojo Vibe also has the internal switch for Vintage/Modern options, but if it's Trower and Hendrix you like, you'll probably be setting it to Vintage for that warm chewy throbbing sound which says "60's & 70's" in the same way that chorus says "80's Pop." I know which one I prefer! I've got a CE-1 and a DC-2 Dimension C, sold my CE-2, and the Mojo Vibe is very different to all of them. I found it works best with it's own dedicated, regulated power supply, because it needs a constant steady 9 volts which it internally converts to 18v. Be warned that you will probably become addicted to this sound and that you may find yourself playing Trower's "Daydream" and the last four bars of the intro to "Little Wing," repeatedly!

Lewguitar is correct, Fulltones Deja Vibe pedal does sound a tad weak, however the original (gold housing, I'm not sure about the mini or the II) has a pot that can be tuned inside that can give it a bigger fuller sound after a small adjustment it sounds great....top notch.

I've also considered and recommend wahwah's suggestion of the the Mojo vibe, great sounding pedal very full. Both retail for about the same it just depends on who you want to give your money to.

Voodoo labs Vibe pedal is also a good alternative and cheaper, not as good as the Fulltone or the Mojo Vibe but for the money very nice.

Those would be all that I would recommend Dunlops Uni-Vibe is way to harsh and just doesn't nail the sound that it's named after and don't even touch digital. just my 0.2cents

I have a Marshall VibraTrem, which has vibrato and tremolo modes. On the vibrato mode, I like to keep it at a really subtle setting. A step vibrato sound can even be dialed in on this, which is pretty trippy.

It's a shame about the Fulltone getting weak reviews here...
I was close to ordering it because we finaly have a store here that works with a company that makes vibes...
The Mojo Vibe always lookes like the best option... think it's what I'll choose.

FYI, Bob Sweet, who makes the Mojo Vibe, is going to remake his original larger Ultra Vibe.

the KR that Rid mentioned has gotten a lot of great reviews as well

I have the Voodoo Labs myself, which is good enough for occasional use.
Another smaller vibe pedal is the Lovepedal Magicboy.
