I'm guessing it doesn't have much to do with Mojo.
I think it probably has alot to do with thefact that Electrial tape is very easy to puncture. Even accidentally. And Duncan being the smart fella he is, probably realized this. And figured "well If someones paying $70(or more) for a pickup they probably don't want that pickup to accidentally get smacked with a pick while playing, and have they're coils gouged. Better use something strong, and protective".
He probably also realizes that, Less damaged pickups = Less returns = Less repair costs he has to eat. And also if sumone buys a pickup from him, and that pickup breaks really easily, they're not too likely to Buy another from him.
A good bussiness always trys to make quality product (and duncan is the best), If for no other reason, than to get return customers. (and also to have happy customers recommend the product to others). Just common sense really.
