Tapered B out of the box

I really don't know if this should be a string rant or Warwick rant.

I need to install a 135s set on a Warwick with two-piece bridge that only takes a tapered B string (130+). I know that from my past experience. Does anyone except Warwick sell sets with a tapered B string?
Warwick makes these sets, but I can't find them locally. EB does not make tapered B strings at all, if I'm not mistaken. D'Addario makes them, but only sells them separately, which means often times you get a dull and corroded string.

Re: Tapered B out of the box

There are a number of companies that do, although it's not across the board. In GHS, if you buy either our Contact Core Super Steels, Progressives or Big Core Bass in a 5 string set, they will all have either tapered or exposed cores to facilitate string changes on a Warwick.

Or, you can do what I've been doing for 15+ years with my Warwick, and that's grab a pair of pliers and clamp down on the part right before the ball end. You can usually squeeze it just enough to have the string fit in the bridge. Or, you can very carefully sand the B string slot to widen it, which is what a lot of other Warwick users do.

Fender - don't know if all sets have the tapered B, or if they even make a 135 set, but I recently bought a set of their flatwounds and the B is tapered.

Which model Warwick do you have?

I managed to fit Rotosounds on my MIG Streamer Stage 1. On the B string, the first inch of string after the ball end has only one wrap. The second wrap begins before the bridge saddle.
