Tapped QP tele lead

Im having the custom shop make an antiquity treated-tapped QP tele lead pickup. I'm curious does anyone know where the QP tele lead is tapped at? Wondering if I should keep the tap stock or altar it. I'll be using it for punk rock. Thanks for any feedback

The pickup itself is a whopping 17k, and I believe the tap is half that, which is a little hotter than vintage.

Thanks alot Mincer, so it is already tapped at roughly 8.5k, I was actually thinking about tapping it at 9k that would be just a little hotter than vintage or would it make a difference?

it is 17k but its not the same wire so 8.5k (which is where the normal tap is) isnt hotter than vintage as it would seem, the 1/4" magnets do up the output even split though. as far as 8.5k vs 9k, i dont think youd hear much difference. if you wanted something hotter than vintage you could do like 11k. my favorite tele bridge pup is the tapped '53 jb, #42 pe wound to 9.5k with a tap at 6.5k

Ok thanks for the info, seems like they already finished my order (that was fast) if I do this again I'll keep in mind that it's not the same wire so the tap would be higher

the quarter pound has these big 0.25” rods and about 17k but still a hardly filled bobbin…
i doubt it’s AWG 43…

i already recommended to put the tap not under 70% or something like that to you before
