Tataaaa. Mesa Mark V is here !

Re: Tataaaa. Mesa Mark V is here !

No less than 9 patents stand guard over your Tone…

he didn't forget to mention this on the front page, bstrd :)
Interesting amp though, I'd love to have one

Re: Tataaaa. Mesa Mark V is here !

Not bad...dunno if I'm gonna sell my Mark IV for one though ;).

Hell, at least they fixed the freakin footswitch jack. I hate the way they've got it setup on the IV.

Re: Tataaaa. Mesa Mark V is here !

I am a big mesa fan, and I most of their stuff, but this thing scares me. I think it would work well for someone with their own sound playing originals. But being in a band that does some covers, the complexity of it scares me to death. I would be the type of guy to go for something more simple, but that's just me.

Anyways, it looks great, and I expect it shall be well received.

Re: Tataaaa. Mesa Mark V is here !

It's the perfect amplifier for Any experimental musicians ,top 40 players ,santana lovers ,Progressive lovers ,Petrucci wannabes or anyone who loves tight ,well focused crunch.

It's not a Marshall clone or alike ,and I love that!

I am thorn between Diezel and Mark V now...I think I would go with the Mark V...same price .more versatility.

Re: Tataaaa. Mesa Mark V is here !

quite exciting...maybe i shouldn't go for the Mark IV after.

I'll just need to try it out sometime soon.

Re: Tataaaa. Mesa Mark V is here !

it seems that whenever i start getting into simple gear (ie: single channel amps and a pedal board) I'm drawn to one of the mark amps. that sucks

Re: Tataaaa. Mesa Mark V is here !

it certainly one-ups the Sig-x

power modes are channel assignable
fx loop is channel assignable
graphic eq (2 modes) is channel assignable
reverb is channel assignable

AND, if it really captures all the famous mark tones, what are you guys complaining about? oh noes! too many knobs! what a joke! what a hilarious looking amp! It's 2009. Amps don't have to look like they did 40 years ago anymore. Just because it has all that tweakability (what more could you ask for?) doesn't mean you have to keep tweaking. You can still dial it in, set it and forget it. If you play in all kinds of places it could be your best friend

BUT, if all that circuitry compromises the sound and it sounds like ass, then by all means gripe away

for the price and features, I'm gonna give it a serious look, way more serious than its closest competitor: the Sig-x. And way more serious than that Alchemist thing that got raves before it shipped.

Someone posted this over on TGP;

I don't know about you guys, but after having owned a Mesa Mark III combo, I can honestly say that the fact they equipped this bad boy for casters is awesome.

I'm with ya. To me, more controls just means more possibility that I'll get it to sound the way I want it to.

I'm definitely going to fire one of these up if I see it in the store, and if I like it I'll have quite a dilemma on my hands.

Re: Tataaaa. Mesa Mark V is here !

I take it this amp will not have the (((loose))) character of the all mighty Electrics, or Matamps . . .

. . . if not, this is not for me !

Oh well.

A Mark series amp would give a seriously good sludge/doom tone. It's not as loose as something like a GT-120... but it does have a very, very big bottom end and the low midrange emphasis.

FWIW.... I sold my Mark III when I went Orange. Though I occasionally miss it.

Re: Tataaaa. Mesa Mark V is here !

:eek2: There is NO QUESTION that THIS is my next amp!!! That looks so versatile and so customizable, how could you not get what you want out of it?

This is the Road King of the Mark series amps!! :headbang:

Re: Tataaaa. Mesa Mark V is here !

i am curious how the C90 will sound in it ... of course, the preferred answer is gonna be an EVM 12-L ... but then you'd need like 3 guys to carry it instead of 2 :D
