tb-11 question

Re: tb-11 question

String spacing in the neck is too narrow for a trembucker. You'd better get a 'regular' SH-11 for that. Then again, the CC is meant to be put in the bridge because it is already high output (14.4K resistance if I'm not mistaken). Because the strings vibrate wider around the neck position, putting a CC in there will be very loud and probably overpower your bridge pickup. It will probably also induce overdrive in your amp pretty quickly, so it's not the best option if you want the ability to play nice cleans.

The CC in the neck will be pure mud! A horrible idea!

Right! The CC has lots of mids from being overwound. Add a dark A2 magnet, and put it in a naturally dark neck position, and you have a blurry mess. There's a reason why almost all neck PU's are 7,500 to 8,500 ohms, and most have A5's. Brightness is needed to make a PU usable. Experiment on the bridge instead.
