TB-6 (Duncan Distortion) in an Ibanez RG320?

Hi there!!

I recently inherited an Ibanez RG320 of a friend. It's a budget guitar, but I really like it a lot as it looks gorgeous (burgundy finish) and simply feels great to play.

I've tuned it down to D and put some 011-052 D'Addarios on it.
YOu won't be surprised I use this one for metal riffing only :-)

Of course it needs some decent pickups...
The stock pickups are not awful, but they're rather generic sounding... you know, the usual "powersound" pups. They have plenty of output and gain, but they lack definition and "oomph".

What pickup would you put in the bridge?? (I don't use the neck pup on this guitar at all)
It has to sound METAL and must have plenty of power!! :)
But it has to be a passive pickup! I don't want any hassle with batteries...
I'd like to stick with ceramic pickups too, as I love these type of pups for metal.
ANd my preference goes out to the Seymour Duncan brand. Their stuff has never let me down.

My personal first choice would be a Duncan Distortion (TB-6). Or maybe a JB.
But what do you think??
Maybe something entirely different??

I am not sure what would be the best, but I think the Distortion would be a great starting point. Invader is good too.

JB isn't ceramic I don't think, but would still be a good choice.
So would the Invader.
I would choose either of those before the distortion.

I dig the SH6 distortion. Its a pup that I think gets over looked alot around here. Another one is the Dimebucker. In my experience the Dimebucker will have a little more scooped sound and the SH6 is more complex in the mids. Both are very nice and tight on the bottom. I would pick one of these 2 before the Invader. The Invader holds a special place in my heart cause it was the first duncan i ever owned but at the same time in my eyes its a hard pickup to find the right combination of guitar and amp for. The Sh6 to me is defiantly more "plug and play"

The dimebucker will sound uber-trebely, like very! I heard first hand complaints about the distortion in an Ibanez. I honestly think you'd really like the invader! Very very full sounding and just as heavy sounding in terms of distortion as a Distortion pup, but with a touch more bass and a little less treble. I'd go with the invader for sure!!! Really, really, dont do the JB.

Basswood ey? The only advice I have is stay away from anything too trebley, like the Dimebucker. It'll be waaaay too bright.

PATB-2 Parallel Axis Distortion. Thick, huge Distortion tone, slightly less harsh, but more articulate. More compressed and higher output, too.

Awesome gargantuan riffs, great thrash tone, and strong lead tones. Best all-around ceramic I've heard, particularly in a floating vibrato guitar.

I've got a PATB-1b in my RG570, if I got another basswood shredstick it'd get a PATB-2 without any hesitation.

Distortion and Invader will be fine indeed, but maybe you should consider Tb5 Custom too.Aaaaaaaahhhhhh so many good choices :D
