TC Electronics G-Major

Hey guys...

I am looking to get some pedals to cover chorus, delay, reverb and some other effects. Instead of habing a slew of pedals, would a multi effects unit like the G-Major work well for me?

What type of experiences do you guys have with them? Are they rackmount only?

It'd be going into my Mesa Boogie MK III combo btw.

Rackmount only, awesome unit! Very very very little tone coloration, if any.

If you can deal with programming it (not hard, IMO), then it'll work great.

sounds substantially better in the loop rather than in front of the amp

need to deal with the midi footswitch to change patches on the fly

great sound for sure

How much would the midi foot controler cost?

How many patches can I save up to?

I am on my second G major. I love the unit but about 45% of them have issues that need to be repaired that cost minimum $100 to have T.C. fix like the parameter wheels and display locking up etc. I had a local guy replace the dsp chip and it cost me $250 then it messed up again 1 month later and I sent it back to T.C. for another $100. Sounds great and my new one has been reliable now for 9 months .

I think that's BS. I had a knob bust off in shipping and TC agreed to fix it for no charge besides shipping.

Besides, they can be had for 325 from dealers all day! check out ericsguitars.com.

I really liked mine, and in all honesty, it would have been cool to keep, but I didn't use all of the features at all, and don't use effects live.

LOL I haven't had any time to setup and record clips... sorry about that man. I had finals last week and we have a gig tomorrow night, possibly our last...


That said, I'm ordering DFHS tonight, and will be mic'ing up my amp much more often; going the solo project route.:fingersx:
