just got a peavey bandit 112 solo series on the cheap. it has the teal stripe on the control panel. just wondering if anyone knows roughly when this amp was manufactured. i contacted peavey, but their archive data base is down and they cant help me.

i think this amp was made between the late '80s and early '90s.

Re: teal stripe peaveys?

Early 90's. I have a very nice sounding Ultra 120 with the teal stripes, it is from that period.

yep, early 90's , I too have one of those teal stripe Ultra's mine is a 60 watt 112 combo... mine was made in 93
it pretty much kicks @$$

Re: teal stripe peaveys?

^Yup! Seriously under rated amps. Voiced like a hot rodded Marshall with a usable clean channel and real spring reverb (rare for a hi-gain amp.) I think the only reason these didn't do well is because everyone wanted Mesa Rectifiers at the time which is probably why they went to the Ultra + model.

Re: teal stripe peaveys?

these are under-rated and overlooked. the clean sounds just like fender to my ears, the reverb is great, and the drive channel sounds british. plus this thing is loud as hell. what more do i need?

Re: teal stripe peaveys?

The early Ultra is a screaming monster. Had one for much of the 90s. Not my think now, but it is a good value in the hi gain department!
