tech question: Phat Cats impedance match?

I'm planning to try a pair of Phat Cats in my 81 Ibanez AS50, a semi-holow that currently has Gibson PAFs in it. I don't know what the impedances are of its pots (stock), but do I need to worry about that in installing the Phat Cats? Thanks. John

I recommend 500k pots with the Phat Cats as they are indeed fat sounding. :)

On a semi hollow, its not a bad idea to upgrade the electronics at the time of the pickup swap, as you'll need to pull out most of the wiring anyway.

Re: tech question: Phat Cats impedance match?

Phat Cat uses and A2 magnet, where lots of contemporary P-90's including Seymour's own Vintage SP-90 are using A5's. That's another reason IMO to try it with 500k pots, to retain as much high end from the Phat Cat as possible. But for all I know, perhaps Hamer is using 250k and maybe you'll like 250's. I'm just saying what I'd do.

Thanks for the info. I guess the first thing I need to determine is what impedance the pots in there are.
