Tele 4way switch with a strat neck pickup?

I'm putting together a telecaster and wanted to use a strat neck pickup. I've been looking at the wiring diagram for the switch and there is a ground from the regular tele neck p/u cover being used. A strat p/u wouldn't have this so is there a work around to make the 4way switch an option? Or will i need to use the standard 3 way switch?
thanks,
matt

Unless your Stratocaster pickup has a metal cover, simply omit the cover grounding wire from your circuit. Everything else in the schematic diagram still applies.

It is possible that the Strat pickup will be out of phase with the Tele pickup. In this event, reverse the black and white conductors of the Strat pickup where they connect to the selector switch.

i usually use strat pups in the neck of my teles and typically use a 4 way switch as well. works fine, just omit the cover ground like funk said
