Tele Advice

After a new Caster. Have about $1000ish, could reach a little above. (Living in the UK but plan to buy from US due to 2:1 Exchange rate and generally better prices there).

Generally after a 52 reissue or a 51' nocaster, but not exclusively.

1) Where is the best place to buy them new in the US (that is, that trade globally) ?
2) Is it worth trusting "All Fender Parts" "Not some Frankentele" custom builds on eBay?
3) Is there any model(s) I should look out for anything in particular?

Re: Tele Advice

1) I don't know the best place to buy, but I did see a nice used '52 RI in Buffalo Bros a couple weeks ago for $999:
'52 RI

2) IMO, yes, especially if you consider resale

3) uh ... I don't know - have you played both these models? For me, I like those models, except for the vintage radius necks, which aren't the best for me.

Re: Tele Advice

Made in Mexico Teles are some of the best deals for the dollar. You may have to play a couple to find the right one, but to be honest, I haven't found a great deal of difference between the MIAs and MIMs. Certainly not the amount of cost difference. Teles are wonderful instruments to make your own and if it were my money, I'd rather spend $350 on the basic shell of the instrument and put the remainder into upgrades. Just my own opinion, I know, but it might be something to consider.
