Tele Custom Set

Alright. I scored this cool tele squire custom for a buck fifty. It has a really nice neck and the guitar is a great candidate for a pickup upgrade. This one gonna hang around awhile

So the only thing I'm not very fond of is the factory humbucker. I think I'm just gonna get another pickguard with a standard humbucker cut.

I know I want to install a Jazz neck in it. Most likely my favorite neck humbucker on the market. But I need a good tele bridge pickup that will work well with it and retain a bit of that "bangin' biting' sound only a tele bridge can do.

I play blues and hard rock, and generally play starts the most. Have a PR I built, amp nation wonderland overdrive, wide panel Princeton.

Would like some suggestions on a good combo for this project.

Thanks.

welcome to the forum!

i really like the jd for a tele bridge when trying to match up with a neck bucker. its still a bit tricky to balance the output and tone, but it can be done. the broadcaster is another option. there are hotter options, but they lose a bit of the biting tele tone

For better balance with the Jazz, also check out the BG1400. It is hum cancelling, and slightly fatter than most Tele bridge pickups, but it can do so much more.
