Hey all, just picked up a MIM Standard Tele w/Ash body upgrade (the Carvin DC-400 next to the Strat in the picture is gone and the Tele has taken its place) and am looking to change out the pickups (bridge p/u mainly). It's just too much top and not enough mids. I was wondering if anyone has tried out the "Five-Twos" and what their impressions were. Thanks.
I should add that I do like some of the aspects of the stock re-voiced hot bridge pickup in that I can use OD well with it and get a little "Bill Frizell" out of it , and with the treble bleed, I keep the tone as I roll the level off (so the extra power isn't a problem). It just doesn't have any of that brassy "midrange twang" (do want some country twang) and the bottom can get a little woofy.
