Tele hum-cancelling wiring for JD/Surfer

Got a 98 MIM Tele that I want to breathe some life into and I'm thinking a Jerry Donahue in the bridge and a middle-position RWRP Surfer in the neck for (ideally) hum-cancelling in the middle position.

I recall reading another thread with a similar set that reversed the wires on the Surfer for an in-phase hum-cancelling middle posistion. Even with a standard production JD, will this be the case for the set I have in mind?

Also, how well does a Surfer in the neck of Tele stack up against the real deal?

Thanks!

Actually went with an SSL-2 RWRP in the neck. I know swapping the leads isn't going to be that much of an issue, but I'd like to know what I'm doing in advance. Do I wire the SSL-2 normally (black to ground) or is this (for some reason I can't find on the forums) going to be out-of-phase in the middle position with the standard production JD pickup?
