Tele pickup for 4-way switch option (Evan?)

Hey, based on a previous post, I was wondering if Evan or somebody could say whether SD offers as an option Tele pickups that are ready to be used with a 4-way switch (Bridge/Bridge+Neck in Parallel/Neck/Bridge+Neck in Series). I just was made aware that they apparently need a special ground wire. Does SD offer anything like this (for standard models as well as Antiquity), or would it be a Custom Shop order? If it's not an option, maybe it could be made into a Shop Floor Custom option? Just a suggestion...

I don't think that you need anything special for a pickup for this configuration. I've got a Broadcaster/Blues Special in my Tele with a 4 way switch.

i used my 'vintage stack for tele' set stock with no need to mod anything for the 4 way mod ... the neck cover was already 'isolated' as required ... the purppose is to keep the cover grounded and not run the series signal through it .. keeps noise down and reduces shock hazard

ps - to be clear, not only do i have i have first hand experience making this work, but i asked the SD tech support this exact question before i did it and this is what they told me

Yes, What Tone4days said.... I have my fralins 4-wayed up on my tele. I do like the series boost and bass push ( to my ears)....when it kicks in.

FWIW best to get a bridge pickup that's RWRP compared to the neck...for example, the Fender 'Nocaster' bridge pickup (GREAT pickup BTW) is RWRP compared to the Fender Tele neck pickups (52RI & deltatone)...so you get hum canceling.

I have a four-way on my Schecter Tele and I'm using stock Duncan's...Alnico II Tele in the bridge, Vintage Stag Strat in the middle & a Mini-Bucker in the neck. No special wiring or grounding required...though one of these days I'm going to swap it out to a 5-way switch.

Here's the deal: If using a vintage-style Tele rhythm pickup (which has the cover connected to the pickup's black wire) When you put the two pickups together in series, you are connecting the rhythm pickup's cover to the hot signal. This can cause buzzing---and WILL cause buzzing if you touch the cover while in series mode. The quick way around this is to CUT the little jumper-wire on the bottom of the pickup that connects the cover to the black wire (do not de-solder it---if you are not fast enough, you can compromise the wax-potting). Once the wire is cut, attach a separate wire to the jumper-wire coming from the cover and connect it to ground independently of the pickup's black wire. That way, regardless of how the pickup is wired, the cover is always grounded.

I understand for the rhythm pickup but why do some mod their bridge pickups like the JD, since they don't have a cover?

they dont have a cover, but they do have a baseplate

And just like the neck pickup's cover, the baseplate is grounded...
