Tele players

I want to put some brass saddles on my highway 1 tele, what are your thoughts on the compensated saddles and are they better than just the regular ones? Also my guitar came with 9's on it, I changed the strings to 10's do I need to set it up for tens or will it not make a differance?

Re: Tele players

I use them on all my Tele's...some are better than others but to be honest any of them will play more in tune that the old style non compansated style saddles...plus if you have a stock HW1 you have steel saddles...the brass ones will sound MUCH better! You could go all out with a set of Barden or Callaham saddles but I use the cheapo Stew-Mac saddles...their around $10 a set or so and they work just fine! After you put them on you will need to set the intonation but after that you'll be fine.

Re: Tele players

I've never set the intonation, how do you go about doing that? and are the barden and callaham saddle that much better to be worth the price.

Re: Tele players

What Curly said!

I have tried several of the compansated saddles and none of them are 100% in tube but ALL of them are far better than stock saddles!

Get the stew Mac saddles and call it a day...get a frest set of strings and follow that set up guide...you'll thank us later!
