Tele wiring

Getting ready to install a bridge Hotrails in my MIM Standard Tele with 3-way switch.

I have a few questions:

1) Is the Bill Lawrence neck p'up compatible with the hotrails or should I replace it with a SD neck p'up?

2) What SD tele neck p'up plays nice with a Hotrails bridge?

3) Should I use the Standard tele wiring diagram or is there something better?

Thanks!

Re: Tele wiring

1) Yes. The two different brands of pickup are compatible.

The one possible fly in the ointment is their electrical phase and magnetic polarity relationship. It is possible that, with both pickups selected together, the sound will be weak and wiry. The solution is to swap over the black and green conductors of the Hot Rails pickup. (The bare wire remains soldered to ground.)

2) Would you believe, the SD STHR-1N Hot Rails for Telecaster, Neck position pickup?

3) "Something better" would probably involve a smart@$$ circuit and a four- or five-way selector switch.
