I am simplifying the wiring on some of my guitars. The current wiring on my Telecaster is based on the Bill Lawrence diagram modified by the addition of a DTDP mini switch placed between the pots When engaged this gives combined series /OOP in position 5 . See Diagram 1.
I want to go back to just a stock 5 way but keep the series /OOP instead of the Half OOP of the Bill Lawrence . Searches on various wiring sites for a suitable wiring diagram for the 5 way to achieve this has found no suggestions. I have scribbled down some ideas which should work. See diagrams 2 and 2A .
I am not that happy with these . 2 gives neck only in both positions 3 and 4 and although 2A gives neck with cap in position 3 it also gives neck with cap in parallel with bridge in position 2 .This raises a query in my mind but may not in practice actually be that detrimental .
Before I get out the soldering iron I would welcome input and superior wiring suggestions from any of the gifted wiring gurus who contribute here..
Hopefully my somewhat untidy diagrams are sufficiently clear..There is an error on diagram 2. The bridge and neck circuit ground wires should be swapped around as in 2A although inpractice it makes no difference.
