Telecaster bridges

I could have sworn that somebody made a Tele bridge that you didn't need to string through the body, but unless I'm missing something (quite likely) I can't find any.

Re: Telecaster bridges

the wilkinson vintage tele bridge with compensated saddles is top loading or string-thru-body loading.

Re: Telecaster bridges

I had a non tremolo strat bridge which allowed both ways. First i had that top loading and didn't like the outcome. Some years later i bit the bullet and made the drillings thru the body. The loading thru the body gives more sustain, more bass and low mid, more attack and growl.

Re: Telecaster bridges

I looked on MF, and the only two that look like they would accomodate top-loading are Hipshots that say they are 'B-bender ready'.

And not one Tele bridge of any brand mentions top-loading, but most say made for string-through. I didn't even find any on Fender's site.

And I want a top loader because the ferrule holes were drilled a little off. If I can't get a top loader it's a big deal.

Thanks guys. Now I know what to look for.

Any particular ones you'd recommend?

Re: Telecaster bridges

If you're in the USA I have one that is an amalgam of parts but fully functional that you can have for the price of shipping.

What kind of amalgam? All I care about is the baseplate. I just want to know that it fits a standard tele pickup, and I can get standard tele saddles to fit it, so that I can get some graphite ones.

Forged baseplate with stamped metal saddles. If you're looking to change saddles with strat style graphites then it would be fine.

Re: Telecaster bridges

Yes those would work because the screw runs down the middle of the saddle.

Re: Telecaster bridges

I see at least 3 different spacing measurement types. Any idea what that takes?
Mine came off an import Squire so I'm not sure what spacing the bridge has? I don't imagine it is much different than a Fender.

Re: Telecaster bridges

Guitar fetish has one described as " Dual Load "

Under guitar bridges > fender style
