Telecaster clip request!

Hi

I would like to know if someone's playing a Telecaster with Flatwound strings? I'm thinking of getting me a Telecaster with traditional pickups and stringing it with a 13-52 Flatwound set - as an alternativ to a real full bodied jazzbox. I know that there are a bunch of jazz players that use teles, but it seems most of them aren't playing traditional jazz (I'm thinking Wes Montgomery) but some kind of fusion or more modern jazz.

If someone have clips of how that could sound it would be very nice to hear them.

I have read somewhere that the neck pickup of a Tele is really quite suitable for that. Apart from the actual sound of the pickup it has something to do with the placement of the pickup in relation to the strings.

Re: Telecaster clip request!

The telecaster neck has a nice warm, clear tone to it, it's great for jazz. I actually prefer the sound of a tele in jazz to the sound of a big hollowbody, from personal experience, the hollowbodies sound great and mellow for single note runs, but when it comes to chording it all just muds up beyond recognition.

I use a hardtail strat, and play traditional jazz, (alot of bebop..) and my tone comes out great.

Not sure about the strings, but that's certainly a standard tele.
