Telecaster JD and Ant. HB?

I'm thinking of putting a Jerry Donahue in the bridge and an Antiquity Humbucker in the neck of an alder Telecaster with maple neck and rosewood fingerboard. Has anyone paired these up? Will the Ant. work well with 250K pots?

I will be playing 60s and 70s rock, Jam band type stuff, and Alternative Country through a Marshall Vintage Modern and a Fender Super Sonic.

Thanks for your opinions.

I would say the JD Antiquity choice is a splendid one indeed for what you describe. To my ears, (I'm old, so take that into account!) Antiquities (and Seth's) sound beautiful with 250K pots. For the music you're playing, amp's, guitar.....you would be hard pressed to find a better combo of pickups.

Thanks! I'll report back once I get them in.

My opinion is that you'd be better off with 500k pots to get that extra bit of sparkle out of those pups. Your amp has plenty of bass and mids on tap and plenty of treble attenuation available so you shouldn't have to worry about the pups sounding too piercing.

I agree with 500k pots all around. Especially if you use the neck pickup a lot. It is a great combination, and I'd love to hear how it works out!

Thanks. I was thinking that 500k might make the JD too ice picky but that's what the tone knob is for, right. I could also add a resister to make the bridge "see" 250k. I'll try 500k all around and adjust accordingly. I appreciate the insights.
