I can't really answer with regard to cap values. I tried the Little 59 with 250k pots and found it kind of dark, using it in parallel mode. I tried 500k pots and it made that pickup really come to life. That was in an alder body Tele. Ash might prove different. That said, I believe your Tele has an alder body.

Re: telecaster pots

I am always of the opinion to have both 250k and 500k on hand, and decide what you like. In many guitars, 250k works fine (after all, it was designed to drop right in), but there were times I certainly found it too dark. So have fun, and experiment (same for cap values- start with stock, and change it if you don't like it).

IMHO, the little 59 definitely needs a 500k pot rather than 250k. Even with a 500k it sounds very dark to me. You may even decide to use a 1 meg pot.

If you want all of the treble and most upper mids removed as you roll down the tone pot, then a .047uf cap is fine. It will get you some very dark tones with very little rotation of your tone pot. My suggestion would be to use a .022uf cap.
