Telecaster with P90

I was thinking about installing a SP90-2 in the neck of my new MIM Telecaster, and I was wondering which bridge pickup would compliment the tone.

My Tele has the regular Alder body and maple fretboard.

I was thinking that an STL-2 Hot Lead pickup would work well with a hot P-90.

Any suggestions?

The STL-2 would be a nice match. The APTL-3JD as well as the 1/4lber would be too.

Question though, what's with the "thumbs-down"?

Butch, I did the same thing once! If you look at, it can also look like a thick/balloony question mark!:9:

i have a phat cat p-90 in the neck of my tele (swamp ash american deluxe) and a lil '59 in the bridge.. they go together perfectly! lots of range and complementary tones. I am running the stock 250k pots and they sound THICK. I play mostly hard groove rock. Both pickups are great for everything from sparkling clean to thick meaty chunk, the guitar excels at everything and can even pull off a respectable hardcore metal tone (through my cranked mesa) my jcm 800 will take it to face blistering rock but can't sear the hair off your head like the boogie.

i have a duncan vintage p-90 in the neck of my mim tele. i use a tapped tele hot bridge. and they are working out great together.

Did the P90 fit the neck of your MIM Tele without any problems? My 2006 has the neck routed for a full-size humbucker, but I know that a P-90 is wider than a regular humbucker.

Who did you get your P-90 pickguard from?

Hello.
I am working on a warmoth project and don't know how to install the p90 in the neck position: there are only two screws to press the cover of the pickup downwards.
How do you setup height ? do I need to place some foam underneath to create a resistance towards up ?
