Telecasters.... Opposite ends of the spectrum

A couple of weeks ago I picked up a Telecaster made by French Luthier Philippe Dubrielle. I'll be honest and say I didn't know anything about him until I got the guitar but apparently he's built guitars for some big names inc the Rev Billy G. It's a nicely aged Tele that has a real worn in feel, it sounds real fat although I can't really say if it's an authentic sound as I've never really been a Tele guy. The neck is pretty chunky with I would say medium frets which makes for easy playing. The pick ups are BKP Black Guards which I'll leave in as they came with the guitar.... I wouldn't go out of my way to buy another BKP due to bad customer service a couple of years back but that's another story! Today I decided to get my Wayne super T out to just see how radically different they are and I forgot just how awesome this guitar is as I tend to gig other guitars. Anyway, these Tele's couldn't be any more different but both truly cool guitars that will get gigged... I'll just need to get my guitars into some kind of rotation. So without further ado here they are.... Sorry for the crap phone images.

Both really lovely axes, but ill bet only one of them sounds like a tele ;)

Re: Telecasters.... Opposite ends of the spectrum

You are all set. Dump all the rest of the junk :)

Very nice.

Cheers fellas, here are a few more of the Dubrielle..... It's got mojo for sure!

Re: Telecasters.... Opposite ends of the spectrum

Sweet! Love both of them BUT that Wayne man.....awesome guitar!

Re: Telecasters.... Opposite ends of the spectrum

Yeah, I don't think you need to buy any more guitars. I'd be set right there.

Re: Telecasters.... Opposite ends of the spectrum

Personally I am not a Tele guy. But I love the one on the right!! That is a SwEETT guitar;)

Very sweet Tele Don! Stop posting pictures of that Wayne you swine! :)

Sent from my TARDIS using timey-wimey talk.

Re: Telecasters.... Opposite ends of the spectrum

The Dubrielle looks as good as some of the Fender Custom Shop Master Built teles. I'm curious to know how many pounds of sterling you had to heave over for that. :14:

Re: Telecasters.... Opposite ends of the spectrum

These are why I love the Tele platform so much, both ends of the spectrum and everything in between.

Congrats mate, both stunning guitars!

Re: Telecasters.... Opposite ends of the spectrum

Cool pair! What Mincer said is somewhat true. You don't need more guitars. You need more teles. Just like what Will said, tele is good platform for mod and creativity.

Re: Telecasters.... Opposite ends of the spectrum

Yeah the ageing on this one is particularly good. My band mates thought it was a genuine old guitar so I let them think that until the end of rehearsal.... Lol.
