What's the deal with these amps?

I read the description on the Mesa site, but I was wondering what y'all thought of them.

Can it really do blackface cleans and Brit style crunch?

How is the high gain on this beastie?

I'm partial to Mesas, and though I don't own one, the Heartbreaker is a nice amp. I let one slip away, and I really regret not getting that amp.

My take is, yes, it will do the Fender-ish cleans and the British crunch. Just remember, those stereotypes are heavily flavored with Mesa's own brand of tone. It is a Rectifier, but it's actually closer to the Mark Series of amps. I don't think you'll find over-the-top gain--but more of the singing Boogie tones of Santana and Larry Carleton. Like the other Mesa high-powered 212s, the combo weighs a ton--get a back brace!

If I found a good deal on one, I sure would take a serious look.
