Seems like there is controversy re: 7868 tubes nos & EH 7868's . Some say the nos sound better? I'm in the process of likely replacing all tubes in the Bogen, except the 12ax7. It takes a 6c4,6eu7, 12ax7, & two 7868's, screams like a banshee ( in a good way) but rumbling on low notes. I don't know much about tube amps but am learning & would like all the info I can get!! Will appreciate any expertise . Thanks . old Telyman, Peace , out!!

Anytime you're talking with audiophiles, you're going to hear the term NOS thrown around like it's mandatory, when a lot of it is just cork sniffery.

This is a pretty good time to be buying new production tubes, and since they're so much cheaper and sound good, you don't need to spend big on tubes.

So much of an amp's actual sound is the speaker. The differences in speakers is so much more audible than the differences in tube brands. Sometimes, you can swap tubes in and out and not even hear a difference.
