Test wiring before restringing?

Is there a standard way to check out wiring before going to all the trouble to restring the guitar? I'm about to do the infamous Page wiring and was wondering what people usually to for a quick functional check before restringing, if anything.

I can see tapping pickups maybe, but I'm not sure how that can test all the options in the Page wiring.

Thanks!

All I do is check continuity of the entire circuit in each switch position and trust that the wiring reflects the diagram.

I usually use a tuning fork held over the pickups or just put on one string like mentioned above

With this method, are you able to determine if two pickups are out-of-phase? if they are in series/parallel? if the tone controls work? if the treble-bleed mod works?

Umm no. I use it for just a quick function check to see if all the pickups work in the proper positions and that the controls work if I've made some modification to them.

I hold my watch over the pickup. If I get ticking through the amp, I'm good.
