I just received a set of Texas hot antiquity for strat from ebay shop.
But the poles of the pickup not look like in the pickup in the web.
The pickups i received have round edge pole like Five-Two™ for Strat SSL-52

The Antiquity Texas Hot™ and RW/RP for Strat® / 11024-02 & 03 in the web have sharp edge pole.

But the package and all the sign and signature of the pickups are ok.
Is there anything wrong?

Photos? Any stickers on the bottom?

Fake SDs seem to be around.

I have seen a lot of junk in Duncan packaging.

Re: Texas hot Antiquity pole question???

Yep sticker and signature are right
Also the DC I measured of each one are exactly the same as they wrote on the tap of each pickup bags.

Everything look ok except the pole of the pickup that not look like the one in the web

Re: Texas hot Antiquity pole question???

there is a small bevel on mine too, nothing to worry about.

fender did it to varying degrees back in the day to make assembly easier and its a vintage thing. ive seen some with almost no bevel, like they just kissed the edge and ive seen others with a more pronounced bevel.

Re: Texas hot Antiquity pole question???

Jeremy's right. The bevels are done by hand, to yield the same result Leo Fender's employees produced back in the 50's and 60's. There is a bit of randomness to them, but I think more importantly, depending on the light and how much lacquer is on the poles, it doesn't always photograph the same. So you could have two pictures of the same pickup and in one photo it looks more beveled than the other.

Re: Texas hot Antiquity pole question???

The bridge pickup in my strat (Texas Hot Custom) has the bevels, but my neck and middle (surfers) do not. So it is a non-issue as far as I'm concerned - no worries

Re: Texas hot Antiquity pole question???

Thanks to u all.

The texas hot pickups sound very good in my NOS 66 Fender Strat, twang, big and round however, I wish they has a little more brightness after break in.

How is it sounds in your guitars???

Antiquity THs definitely have a warmer tone than alnico 5 pickups like SSLs or the Antiquity Surfers.
I don't think there's much "breaking in" to the Ants -- the magnets are already calibrated to sound like aged strat pickups.
I plan to replace the .033mf tone cap to .022mf or .01 mf.

.022 should do it. I've tried .047 caps in a strat, but they were just too dark, especially on the neck pickup.

although the Ant set is warm sounding, I still have enough brightness in my ash strat ... I still roll off a little top end in the bridge position, which I have wired to the mid tone pot.
