Tell that to my ‘62 LP who’s neck fell off while safely stored in the case.

If you read later on, I clarified that I meant the newer models. Some of Gibson's older models will snap right in two if you so much as give them a sideways glance.

So keeping guitars in cases was both the cause of them being positioned able to tumble, as well as protection from that very tumbling :D

This is why I store my cases flat, stacked.

Shouldn't guitars not be stored flat - or old wives tale?

That reminds me of my uncle's Triumph TR7 , that sheared a head bolt sitting in the garage.
