Thank you, Jeremy

What kind of bass is that? It almost looks like an Ibanez Talman. What kind of bridge pickup?

I’m guessing it’s an Ibanez Talman bass. One of the local places had a bunch before they quit selling electric instruments. All of theirs were setup like garbage, but the necks and frets felt good.

Ibanez TMB-30. That’s an Eyguitar Tbird pickup. They’re pretty well-regarded among Thunderbird guys and it’s got more than enough balls to hang with the QP P. I never liked how weak the J always is in comparison to the P in a PJ setup.

Yeah, the stock setup sucked but I’ve got it playing awesome tuned to C with the nut opened up for .065-.130 strings and a Kickass bridge. Glorious, fat, thuddy fundamental. Geezer for DAYS.

So was it obvious to see? I've never actually fixed a dead coil, so I am interested in how this was done.

No and that was infuriating. I just plugged it in one day and no sound. There was no external damage that I could see but it read ‘open’ on my meter. Jeremy took it apart and unfortunately, the break was near the start of the coil.

And NOW I understand the confusion. By “fixed” I meant “rewound.” My bad.

Jeremy's good people. I have a Jazz bridge on loan from him so I could check it out before buying.

I also have the QP's in my P-bass. Killer pups. Enjoy.

glad i could help out. yeah, the break was right at the coil of the start wire so the worst possible place. who knows how it happened being under the cover but its fixed now. glad the bass is kickin ass
