I finally did the 50s wiring mod for Strat that we talked about a couple months back. The thread got vaulted due to the cool schematic these two came up with.
I used that today, very simple change. Just had to reposition two connections, that's it. Easiest mod I've done so far and the results are incredible. The Tex-Mex pickups in my Jimmie Vaugh Strat, which I thought sounded good before, have opened up tremendously. Very spanky and articulate now, no treble loss when you roll the volume back, the tone control is way more useful. No changes other than the simple wire swaps were made.
Thanks guys for a great schematic. Artie drew up the schematic I used in my Esquire conversion as well, one of the cleanest Esquire wiring jobs I've ever seen.
