that 9/8 thing

I've had a bit of a go at that 9/8 thing that Marin and Rid have been playing with. It's not up to their standard - but tough.

See what you think. It's not too long. I've still not got the timing quite right but it's improving and this isn't the easiest piece for timing.

One other problem is that I have to record straight into the computer byepassing the amp speaker, so it loses that softness that a speaker provides. Oh well.

Hope you like it, but I won't be offended if you don't.

I am gigantic fan of this kind of stuff. Lee- I enjoy your playing. It fit really nice with the backing track. I would never be able to tell it was 9/8 but I could tell it wasn't a typical 4/4. Cool stuff. Is this backing track available? I'd love to hear Holdsworth solo over this one.

Yeah, where did you find that backing track, anyway? 9/8 is absolutely groove-a-licious!

nice playing lee .. sweet tone and tasteful note selection .. the run right before the fade out was very cool!

thanks for sharing it

Re: that 9/8 thing

Thanks guys. It's been years and years since I played alongside other players and I've found my timing has become a nightmare. However, I'm working on it and it's tightening up pretty quickly. The best way to sound like a sloppy amateur is to have sloppy timing.

Oh and yeah - that run at the fade is my fav part.
