Hi Guys,

saw this on Musiciansfriend

Akai Tri mode Fuzz

http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/...-TriMode-Fuzz-Guitar-Effects-Pedal?sku=H71563

179 dollars ---- Epic fail

who the F@+k are they kidding !!!

LOL

rehoused biyang pedals,

They just put an Akai name on it and increase the price, thinking a lot of stupid guitar players are willing to buy these for the price they are asking,

Just get a Biyang Tri Fuzz for 47 dollars :D

Biyang = GFS pedals = Eagletone pedals = Akai pedals

Modtone pedals = Belcat pedals from China,

Not sure if Akai changed the components to justify the Price,

Modtone= Höfner, Rouge, Eleca as their own brand is named, they also make Rocktron, Carl Martin, EBS I think it was....lotsa customers with different lines!

The whole "new" Akai effectpedal line are indeed relabeled Biyangs.
You'll find a lot of relabeled Biyang pedals out there by now: GFS, Eagletone, Fame, Collins, Akai, Excalibur, ...and the list goes on.

I got to say (once more) that I like the Biyang designs at the prices they sell for, they offer a lot for little money imho.

The relabeling is nothing new as Vasshu stated above, but it is pretty annoying if you ask me though! Especially in cases such as with Akai, they relabel a product, then multiply the price compared to the original...

Yeah...but Rocktron, EBS, CM just use them as a factory, designs and layout is made elsewhere, or by a hired engineer who regulary is at the plant!
But lots of OEM stuff out there!
Just look how many Maxon made for others back then!
Not just Ibanez, or back to Shin-ei who also made loads of different models with different brands on the pedals..
