The best SD for A LesPaul

I had EMGs on my Epiphone LesPaul replacing the stock pickups. Didn't like it because of too much mid frequency in it. So I placed the JB/Jazz set and it still has loud mids. It's good to play KISS ("Love Gun") stuff, but can't play Randy Rhoad's stuff. I love my Dimebucker on a Gibson SG special. I can paly both Dime's riffs and RR's in it.
Any suggestions for a better balance on a LesPaul that will bring the high frquencies a little better than the JB??

I have a Les Paul too and I just put a Distortion in the bridge to replace the stock pickup. I love that pickup, very well balanced sound with plenty of highs. I'm still working on deciding on a neck pickup now...

First of all, if you have a guitar that good for playing "Love Gun" era kiss - what more could you need?

That said...+1 on the DD. I play all the big 80's metal and it's just fine with the DD. Just remember, there won't be one pup that does it all perfectly.

Custom or Custom 5. They're both guaranteed to be the best for metal and heavy rock.

Also, use the search function and you'll see a wealth if first hand info on LP pickups.

Pretty much. There's maybe only 1 or 2 Duncan humbuckers I'd dislike in a Les Paul. All of them have some sort of vibe that works well with every style of music. For Heavy Rock/Metal, I still think the Custom/C-5/CC bridges sound the best. Ironically, I've been moving down to lower output ones lately, relying on some of my coolest Duncans...Brobucker, 50th Ann. Seths, and my overwound C-5 I made at UGD.
