My FAVORITE Tuners are Grover standard 18:1, non-locking.

I also find American Fender Tuners from most eras to be just fine.

i tend to use the fender schaller locking tuners on my strats and teles since they have the two peg mounting point like regular fender tuners, so i don't have to drill the headstock to use another style. i have no complaints with them so that gets my vote!

I like Schaller tuners. They are made in one piece, and does not fall apart as old Grovers sometimes did with their 38 or something pieces.

Grover Imperials are my favorite tuners.

I have a '78 Les Paul Deluxe that has been retrofitted with Grover Imperial tuners, and they're awesome! I also like Sperzel tuners.

i voted sperzel because they have transformed my brian moore from wretched to perfect .. but i'll tell you, the stock locking tuners on my 540s have been bulletproof and super simple to use

I would say I really like schaller locking tuners but, I am getting ready to try a set of LSR tuners so, maybe my opinion will change. I will have to see.

I love Sperzels! My Washburn came with mini grovers and I thought they had too much slop. The Sperzels are just tighter and I like the ratio better.
