The custom custom's virgin gig! (Swap is done)

Thanks to all of you who helped me with the stock Carvin to SD swap. I was overthinking it a little but it wasn't hard once it got down to rip and replace time.

The CC is my kind of pup. Smoother highs, really thick mids and bass that seems neither boosted nor cut. I'll save final verdict for when I track with it, but the live sound defintely delivered as far as my ears could tell on stage at the gig.

Its splits reasonably well and still retains a lot of character when split, I'm guessing thats what all those mids get you. It backs off well which is life and death for me in one channel amp land. I've gotta say I do think a lot of club bands like me would do better with one channel amps. They would have to try to not get better dynamics.

So many of the bands we play with are just punishing the front row with so much stage volume, even on clean parts and slow songs, its stupid. The band that closed that night literally pushed people out with their Arco Arena levels.

stay well,

Paul

(waiting with baited breath for the EVH custom shop...)
