Hey guys,
Just when I thought I'd kicked the pickup swapping habit, I get dissatisfied with my Blackouts, and I come into some cash. I'm looking for some pickups for my ESP M2 Maple.
For the M2, I was thinking of Alnico 2 Pros, but I have another M2 Maple which is loaded with Bareknuckle Alnico 2 Stormy Mondays, so it would be a bit redundant. I'm looking for something thicker and less transparent-sounding, with a bit less treble, a rounded top end (not harsh or gritty), while retaining articulation, warm cleans, and bass that isn't too loose or farty. The sort of tones I'm looking to get are Gary Moore "Loner" tones, and Satriani "Down, Down, Down" tones.
I've been looking at the DiMarzio Breed, but I'd like to hear any Duncan suggestions (and opinions of the Breed) before I go over to the dark side.
Thanks heaps, guys!
