The first track using Garageband '08 on my 2007 Macbook!

Re: The first track using Garageband '08 on my 2007 Macbook!

Well nathan, it actually all sounds pretty clear. Was it your intent to only have the guitar come out of the left channel? The rhythm tone is quite buzzy, how did you record?

I can see the 80's reference just due to the modulation on the guitar, but that's about it. Not bad my man!

Note to all SDUGF members: no one wants to hear you solo for 5 min, keeping things short and concise will not only sound better, but keep people's attention better.

But what if the song is longer than 15 minutes long? :)

I prefer to solo a lot.. and yes, the left channel guitar was intentional, so you can hear the isolated bass on the right. I used a Behringer guitar link interface plugged in from the output of my pedalboard. on the rhythm guitar I used the Boss ML-2 Metalcore. Same with the lead, but with my Ch-1 for chorus.

The lead tone wouldn't work for the stuff I do, but it cuts through your backing tracking just right. Not bad, man.

Nathan I will hand it to you. That actually sounds decent. I couldn't listen to all five minutes but the quality of the recording wasn't terrible. Nice job.

Thank you guys. I am quite the 80's fanatic. I hope to do a cover of Kenny Loggins's song Danger Zone. That song is what I think of when I hear the 1980's in a nutshell. I hope to come across a real DX7 and Linn Drum as well, so I can definitely get the most accurate sound for that song. A mate of mine had a DX7 II for sale but I couldn't afford it.
