I just sold a bunch of my archery stuff, and the money was burnin' a hole in my pocket.

Here be what I got

Should be here next week. For some reason (maybe cos I was a "gibson guy" for so many years), I'm REALLY excited about this one. Once I get a couple more things sold, and grab a POD or similar, I'll be postin' some Scott Gorham clips

I've had a deluxe for years. It plays very nicely. To my ears it sounds "dark". The only prob I have with mine is it's a feeding back mfer at high volumes. I don't know what year mine is. If you have a new one that maybe corrected. Also, that's the finish I've got and it looks even better in the "flesh"

LP Deluxes normally come with Mini Humbuckers ... although I have seen 1-2 with P90's

Thanx everyone. Can't wait for it to get here, I really miss havin' a Les Paul in the collection.

IME, the mini's sound a bit brighter than standard size humbuckers..kinda sorta like a P-90 but not as twangy. But I don't have a ton of experience with them, and it's been many years since I handled one, so I'm just going from memory.

Or just go listen to any Thin Lizzy pre-Black Rose. Gorham played a Deluxe for pretty much everything up until that album. Live and Dangerous is a good album to listen to for min HB tones.
