it is the first song (titled Just Painted Demo).
I have a good friend who is much younger than me. We grew up together and I consider him to be like a little brother to me. His best friend who I never got a chance to know took his own life (he was 15). My friend was so crushed. It has been two weeks now and I was just reading some people's fond memories of the boy who passed when this song came to me. It's just a quick demo and I realize that the harmonies are off at some points but I just needed to get it down before it disappeared.
This song (in rough demo form) is dedicated to my friend. The song talks about how the painting was never completed we can still appreciate what we had been able to see.

I am working with a band now so I need to see what is going on. As I have said numerous times I do want to record at dirt floor but I just need to get my life organized a bit first.
Anyways I hope you had a great holiday season and are having a nice start to the new year.
Peace, Love, and Understanding,
Julian
the lyrics:
As the paint dries we see it isn’t done
It shouldn’t have stopped so soon
A beautiful picture with space left to fill
But now it just hangs in a room
So many people didn’t know what to do
So many people crying out for you
As the paint dried we saw it wasn’t done
He shouldn’t have stopped so soon
A beautiful picture with space left to fill
But we love it because it is you
So many people didn’t know what to do
So many people crying out for you
Smile, you’ll be alright, don’t worry ‘bout a thing
