The Mad Man Is Sane (You Are Not)

Re: The Mad Man Is Sane (You Are Not)

Sweet bass sound. Reminds me a bit of Rain When I Die at the start.

Heh, that was a lot of fun. Were the guitars written around the bass line? Love, love that bass sound. Are you using the Eleven for both guitar and bass?

Yes'r. They were written around the bass line. :)

Yeah, I've been working on trying to get a really good bass tone lately, and I think I finally found it. That bass tone actually comes from using two things at the same time. I went into my Morley A/B/Y. From there, it goes into the 11 Rack and the Behringer BDI21. Running the two together really helped to fatten each other up. The 11 Rack had this real low growl and the Behringer helped to give it some upper punch.

Thanks!! I love the bass tone I came up with. I think I'm going to hold on to it. As far as the Alice in Chains reference, I hear it, but it's not something I was trying to go for. I guess that's what happens when one has listened to the Dirt album ten million times. Influences come out.

Which of your many bass guitars is that and in what tuning?

Re: The Mad Man Is Sane (You Are Not)

Are its pickups SSD or EMG HZ?

I fitted a Hipshot D-Tuner to my Warwick Steamer Pro M. With its bottom string dropped to D, the SD Blackouts For Bass HB and EQ combination sound positively thunderous. I am thinking of rejigging this bass for DGCF tuning with the Hipshot device offering low C.

It's the SSD pickups. That'll be cool.

It's not too derivative. It reminds me of it and the influence shows.
