Re: the more i play and hear the more i like Road Worn Strats!
I've yet to play a bad one- some of the relic jobs are not all that great, though. Seems the original production (late '08/early '09) tend to look better with the Roadworns, but I've played a few and every one was a good player and a couple were really nice. I played one several weeks back that was a better guitar than the $3K relic '59 sitting on the same shelf. The relic looked more fake than the RW, and the RW played better and had a better piece of wood in it. Go figure.
The Teles I've played are a bit more hit and miss on the Relicing and the fretwork, but the strats have been money. There is an O-white one at my local ScamCash that if I were in the market for a new strat would be mine-great tone, put together well, and a good relic job. Can't find a good sized neck, nitro, taller frets, and vintage tuners (all *must*haves for me) on anything else fender makes that isn't over the top expensive.
