The most dynamic and articulate pickup you’ve ever played

Active pups like Fishman Fluence do those two things better than most. Very high fidelity.
IME, Voice 1 on Fishman Moderns, while not as compressed as EMG's, is still pretty compressed. That's kinda the point. Compression isn't always bad.

Fishman Classics are pretty wide open as far as dynamics and articulation, though. Especially on Voice 1.

Remember the first time I played unpotted pickups and was like wow.... Then I turned on the gain LOL
Yeah, that's the thing. Being non-potted, the dynamics are amazing. But only up to a certain gain and volume level.

For humbuckers, the WLH set for me. Incredible dynamics range, versatile, and articulate. I use them in 2 guitars.

I would put the bridge Duncan '78 above the the WLH bridge in this category too. I've never tried the '78 neck, but I plan a singlecut build using a full '78 set in the future.

Last night I just tried out by homemade Tele Baritone with Strat Microcoils. Those are at least the most articulate and clear pickups I've had so far.

It ones that stand out the most for me personally are my harmonic design tele pickups.

I care less about the overall quiet to loud dynamics than I do how it feels under fingers. Though that does tend to lean towards the dynamic side.

For that feel, I really like my 57/66s split to single mode.
Dark matter 2s split are really cool split.
I like the dynamics of strat pickups but not the sound.

Gimme a fatter steel pole single coil sound with said dynamics. Thats my happy place. Brighter humbuckers like full shreds and single sized buckers are also in my wheelhouse.

So yup. The Microcoils went on my DIY baritone guitar, and they certainly have a great deal of articulation. Nice fast and balanced transients and good string separation, almost as if there is a little microphone helping on each string. And no funny high-mid emphasis that makes for fatiguing frequencies to have to eq out.

The "dynamic" part of the question is a bit difficult for me to answer, because my playing style at the moment, and the amp I play through, contribute so much to that.

As for articulation, the PATB series, (especially the PATB-1 set), has always been one of my favorites.
