Which is it by your opinion? I want to make strat to be heavy and fat (not muddy) as it can be with "vintage" look so to say

Re: The most heavy strat (stacked hum) pickup with single-coil look

I'd say SSL-3 hot but it isn't stacked as far as I know.:eek13:

Virtual Vintage Solo. It's the hottest/fattest that I've tried. It's almost like a cross between a hot strat pickup and a P-90.

Re: The most heavy strat (stacked hum) pickup with single-coil look

I would say the SD Hot Rails for passive, and the SD Live Wires Hot for active.

I haven't tried the DM VV Solo, though. From Benjy 26's description, I might really like that...

What about the Fralin Steel Pole 43 pickup? It's very P90 sounding.

Re: The most heavy strat (stacked hum) pickup with single-coil look

I can get only DiMarzio, SD, EMG or Fender pickups so Fralin is out :smack: Blade pickups or covers like EMG are "no no", i need the look of classic single-coil. In this moment I'm listening Impellitteri and his tone is heavy in some kind of wierd way. Like tank heavy cleans with little overdrive, i wonder which pickups he is using. I have his concert and pickups have that classic look, he says that he is using stock pickups but i don't belive in that. I didn't try stock fender that can pull out that sound :) maybe I'm wrong but i think that he is using some other pickups then stock strat but i don't have a clue witch one. Maybe some ideas? And i don't know way some people say that hs3 is microphonic pickup at high gain, i didn't have that experience. I have tryed many combinations of preamp/poweramp with that pickups and they were taking the gain without any problems :eek13:

Get a SSL-1.

Its non stacked but I nearly shat myself when I played it through my ENGL.

It sounded so Yngwie, that my legs automatically began kicking Yngwie style.

Bill Lawrence will likely ship where you are. All his pups are custom jobs, about $40 US per single coil pickup.

Re: The most heavy strat (stacked hum) pickup with single-coil look

Well I live in Serbia (former Yugoslavia) and even if they would send it to me shipping would be very expensive for me, so I am looking only what i have in my country to buy... As for the SSL series, i just can't stand that buzz from single coils :) so only hum-cancelling :smokin:

That's the hottest one I'm aware of and certainly the hottest stack I've ever tried. I haven't tried Kinman's hotter pu's though so he might have something better/hotter.
