I use a Vintage 30 mixed with a G12T-75 or 2 G12H-75's. What would substituting a G12H for one of those? Most of the people I like would have used 30 watt speakers.

i use a v30 and g12h in my 2x12 cab and i love the tone, i think they compliment each other well. the v30 stays cleaner and pushes the upper mids keeping the sound really punchy, where the g12h makes it sound big and kinda fills in the spots where the v30 is lacking tonally. its also a loud setup which is nice since i only use it when i need alot of push and my open back combos wont cut it. its my favorite combo of speakers.
the wattage mismatch is cool cause the g12h only handles half what the v30 does so it works alot harder but that means that you only have a safe power handling of 60w. i used this combo in my 100w modded red knob twin before i sold it and killed two v30's but the g12h is still kicking and in good shape, not sure whats up with that. but be careful if you are running a 100w amp

It is a 50 watt amp. I rarely have the volume up past 2.
big sounding is good. The G12T-75's are nice but the lack of mids and buzzy high end sometime bothers me. The VIntage 30 and G12T-75's go together well. I just want a sound a touch smoother.

Guys, when you combine these, which speaker "sounds" louder to you? For some reason I'm finding the G12H30 sounds louder than the V30 at low volume. Is it that it just requires less power to get it going than the V30?

Brain Fart. All of the Egg nog and wearing myself out baking with my wife.
It sounds like it may not be a bad change. I may sell one of my G12T-75's and get a G12H

When I mix my V30 and G12T-75 the V 30 sounds louder. I would say do to its mids but it is lower watt handling like your G12H30 would be with a V30.
