So I just finished this up yesterday.
I thought I'd share my method for composing music for Devils of Belgrade in its earliest stages... these are what my demos sound like. My plan is for this tune to be one of the faster, heavier songs on the next record.
It used to be that I'd record bass and program drums to everything as well, but that was 2008 and we were still forming up our sound. Now that's unnecessary - I leave and trust the bass and drum concepts to Marshall and Todd.. They've yet to disappoint.
Honestly, I'd leave the 2nd-guitar parts out as well if I could - Hatchet is certainly capable of writing them - but most of my ideas are pinned on some kind of interplay between guitar parts so my hands are somewhat tied there.
This is presented warts and all - bad edits and sloppy playing - but this is what I will play for the guys at the next band practice so they can hear it and we'll take it from there. I've spared you the incessant metronome track at 215 bpm, but I'll turn it on for the guys so they can get some context of meter.
I have more of these, too. If anybody is interested in hearing them, I'll post some more.
