How did you like it if you tried it/own it?

I tried a singlecut, and didnt like the way it fit my hands...the neck was too fat..and they didn't have any singlecuts in stock, so are the singlecuts similar?

Re: The PRS SE Custom

I assume you mean Singlecut SE.

I've tried the SE Custom and SE SC. The necks are identical: Wide and Fat.
The SE Custom was very nice; thick, sweet tone, and great action.

The Singlecut SE was tuned down at some rediculous tuning--was obviously there at the Guitar Center for much longer. I did not even try and tune it up. Not worth it.

Re: The PRS SE Custom

From what I gather, PRS has two neck shapes : Wide and fat & Wide and slim.

You can get both on regular PRS guitars, but I believe they slap wide and fat on most of their SE models, atleast the ones I have tried.

I got wide and thin on my prs, much nicer imo.

Re: The PRS SE Custom

PRS actually has four neck shapes: Wide/Fat, Wide/Thin, "Regular," and the Santana Carve.

W/F and W/T are by far the most common, with "Regular" only being available on certain 24-fret models and the Santana carve being exclusive to the Santana signature models (surprise!).

I've never played the Santana carve, but of the other three I prefer Regular the most and W/T the least, but W/F is a nice chunky carve that is still very comfortable in the hand.

I like thicker necks anyway and couldn't find anything wrong with my SE's neck.

Interesting. I will have to look at my documentation then, as I have a 24 fret model, and the neck feels comfortable to me, even though I was use to my lp studio neck (50s style). Perhaps I have the regular shape then.

Edit : Just checked, I have wide thing

Anyways, as uOpt says, I love the neck on se's, but that is once more a question of taste.
