Yup, well, I just installed an evolution II and an evolution neck into my guitar, and I can safely say I'm not pleased. It seems to be a bit too harsh for my liking. I have very little experience with pickups and this was more of an experiment than anything. Now that i have an experience with a different sort of pickup, i feel i can more accuracy decide what I'd like in pickups.
Mainly, I don't want a pickup like the evolution. I feel that the evolution is more of a screamer than a singer, and I'd prefer a pickup that can sing. At the same time, I want a pickup that can still pull out some harsher tones, just not harsh like the evolutions. Maybe it's just me, but when i play the evolutions, it feels as if they have no soul. Guns n Roses songs just don't sound the same on an evolution pickup, my stock duncan designed pickups that i was using previously were much more soulful.
Anyone know pickups that can do these things for me?
